In a small team design a multi-function printer for use in a small office or home office. Collaborate with Xerox designers to develop a multi-function printer that will made use of recent advances in technology. The design should also set a new style for this market that can be used to define a new identity for a series of theses types of products. |

Research: |
Most of the research my team and I did centered around printers, scanners, and copiers, we researched size, price, functions, and we looked at a lot of new innovations in all these fields. This research helped us set up what functions the multi-function printer would require and what type of technology we would incorporate with this product. This type of research also allowed us to set up realistic size requirements for all the components of the printer. Each of us also developed trend boards to help us focus on current styles that would help draw more interest to this product's styling. One of the main benefits of this research was that it helped us with color selection, each team member's board included brushed aluminum surfacing and/or color.
Above is the trend board I developed, one of the elements that our team tried to introduce to the multi-function printer was speed. The idea that speed is one of the key selling points for any computer product, this lead our design into a fast paced car like styling. Some web resources we used to define the technology used in current products.
